Brandblusser lampen / lamps from fire extinguishers



Ik had een oude brandblusser (sproeischuim) op de kop getikt om te proberen er een lamp van te maken.

I had bought an old fire extinguisher (spray foam) to try to turn it into a lamp.


Eerst even leeggespoten en daarna besloten om hem schuin doormidden te snijden. Maar later maakte ik nog twee rechte.

First I sprayed it empty and then decided to cut it in half diagonally. But later I made two straight versions.


Voor de poten kocht ik een lat van hardhout (210 cm) en ik heb voor het eerst in mijn leven met deuvels gewerkt, omdat het me mooi leek de verbinding onderaan onzichtbaar te maken. Na deze foto nog houtlijm toegevoegd voor een blijvend stevig resultaat.

For the legs I bought a hardwood slat (210 cm) and I worked with dowels for the first time in my life, because it seemed nice to make the connection invisible at the bottom. After this photo I added wood glue for a lasting solid result.


In het begin had ik alle stickers er nog op laten zitten, voor een authentieke look, maar ik vond het toch mooier zonder die grote groene sticker.

In the beginning I had left all the stickers on it, for an authentic look, but I liked it more without that big green sticker.


Ik moest de sproeislang nog wat inkorten en ik heb een soort houdertje gemaakt om hem aan de fles vast te maken. En natuurlijk een fitting aan de binnenkant bevestigd. Later heb ik er nog twee bij gemaakt, maar dan récht afgezaagd. En alledrie met verschillende poten:

I had to shorten the spray hose a bit and I made a kind of holder to attach it to the bottle. And of course a fitting mounted on the inside. Later I made two more, but then straight cut off. And all three with different legs:
